2025 Tony Elumelu Foundation Grant Eligibility

To be eligible for the Tony Elumelu Foundation Enterprenuer Grant, applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

• Applicants must also be at least 18 years of age.
• Be African entrepreneurs with startups or business concepts poised for growth

Programmes Available:

1. TEF Entrepreneurship Programme: Open to all African entrepreneurs with innovative business ideas or existing businesses not older than five years. This year, there's a special emphasis on businesses leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and green initiatives. Applicants must be at least 18 years old.


2. IYBA-WE4A Entrepreneurship Programme: In partnership with the European Union (EU) and Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), this programme is exclusively for women entrepreneurs with green business ideas or existing green businesses in Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda, Cameroon, Kenya, Mozambique, Malawi, and Togo. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, with businesses not exceeding five years in operation.

3. Aguka Ideation Programme: A collaboration with UNDP Rwanda and the Rwandan Ministry of Youths and Arts, this programme supports young Rwandan entrepreneurs aged 18-30 with business ideas, providing seed capital of $3,000 to nurture innovative concepts into viable enterprises.

4. Aguka Ideation Programme: Open to Rwandan entrepreneurs with businesses in the idea stage and aged 18-30.

5. BeGreen Africa Programme: This programme is open to entrepreneurs with green businesses in Nigeria, Senegal, and South Africa, as well as waste management businesses specifically in Kenya. Applicants must be between 18 and 35 years old.


TEF Grant 2025 PROGRAMME PHASES:

• Application Phase (Jan 1 – Mar 1, 2025): Entrepreneurs submit their business ideas or details of existing businesses via TEFConnect.
• Selection & Onboarding:
  Successful applicants are selected and onboarded onto TEFConnect to begin the program.
• Training Phase (12 Weeks):
  A comprehensive 12-week online business training program covering key entrepreneurial skills.
• Mentorship & Networking:
  Participants receive mentorship from experts and connect with a network of entrepreneurs.
• Seed Capital Phase:
  Entrepreneurs receive up to $5,000 in seed funding to support business growth.
• Post-Program Support:
  Ongoing support, resources, and access to the TEF alumni community for continued growth.
