The Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa is now accepting applications for the 2024 TETFUND Enterprise Challenge. This competition offers a total of ₦10 million in grants, aimed at empowering young Africans by helping them transform their ideas, skills, and passions into scalable business ventures or social enterprises.

About 2024 Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development

The TETFUND Enterprise Challenge is a grant competition organized by the Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development in Africa. It is aimed at young Nigerians, providing an opportunity to pitch their business ideas for a chance to win part of a ₦10 million prize pool. The competition supports the development of scalable business ventures or social enterprises through a series of boot camps and pitching sessions Participants gain access to both financial and technical support, with the goal of fostering entrepreneurship among young people. The competition is open to Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 40.

Rewards for Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development

• 1st Prize (N2 million);
• 2nd Prize (N1 million);
• 3rd Prize (N700,000);
• 4th Prize (N500,000);
• 5th Prize (N300,000) and
• Consolation Prizes (N100,000) each for the remaining 6th – 10th finalists

Selection Process and Timeline for the 2024 TETFUND Enterprise Challenge

• Call for Applications August 16 – September 16, 2024
• Admission into Boot Camp September 18, 2024
• UEC 2024 Open Day September 20, 2024
• UEC Boot Camp September 23 – October 18, 2024
• 1st Preliminary Pitching Competition October 21 – 30, 2024
• Announcement of Top 20 Startups November 4, 2024
• 2nd Preliminary Pitching Competition November 6 – 20, 2024
• Announcement of Top 10 Finalists November 26, 2024
• Grand Finale in Abuja December 3, 2024
• Throughout this process, participants will undergo training and pitch their business ideas. The top 10 finalists will receive various grants and support to further develop their ventures.

Eligibility for 2024 Ugwumba Center for Leadership Development

• Nigerian citizens aged 18 to 40 years.
• Must have a business idea or social enterprise that can be scaled.
