The MTN CHAMPS Competition 2025 is a premier track and field event in Nigeria, designed to discover and nurture athletic talent across the nation. Organized by Making of Champions (MoC) and sponsored by MTN Foundation, the competition is modeled after Jamaica’s renowned high school CHAMPS and aims to serve as a launchpad for Nigeria’s next generation of athletic stars .​

About MTN CHAMPS 2025

MTN CHAMPS 2025 is Nigeria’s premier grassroots athletics competition, powered by the MTN Foundation in partnership with Making of Champions (MoC). Inspired by Jamaica’s high school CHAMPS, the initiative aims to discover and develop the next generation of Nigerian track and field stars.
Now in its second season, MTN CHAMPS offers young athletes from across the country the opportunity to showcase their talent in a highly competitive and professionally organized environment. With categories ranging from U14 to senior level, the event welcomes school athletes, club competitors, and university students alike.


The 2025 edition features events in Lagos (April 9–12) and Uyo (Grand Finale, April 30–May 3), providing exposure, training opportunities, and potential scholarships for outstanding participants. MTN CHAMPS is more than a competition—it's a platform for building future champions.

MTN CHAMPS 2025 Benefits

• MTN CHAMPS will consist of four 4-day Championships nationwide, held in
  Yaba, Lagos between April 9 – 12, 2025, with the Grand Finale held at the Uyo Stadium between April 30 and May 3, 2025.

• Be a Nigerian
• Be aged 14 and above
• Register before the commencement of the competition

  Fill the registration form and submit appropriately
• To enter, a recognized official of your School or Team, e.g. Principal, Games Master, PE Teacher, Athletics Coach or Captain must register your ‘10+10’ Entries at MTNCHAMPS.COM,
• You may promote your participation by posting the most fun and creative videos on social media of your School/Team training or trying out for MTN CHAMPS, at interhouse or inter-school sports, in practice or at any other competitions, along with the hashtag for your city (e.g. #MTNCHAMPSIbadan, etc)
