Applicants must submit scholarship applications to the Nominating Agency in their country of origin, not directly to Mauritius.

The Nominating Agency, often associated with the Ministry of Education, will choose and nominate up to five candidates for undergraduate programs, specifying the level of studies for each nominee.

Following this, the Nominating Agency or the Ministry of Education in the candidates' country of citizenship will forward the application forms to Mauritius.

Mauritius Government Scholarship 2024 Eligibility

To qualify for the Mauritius Government Scholarship, you need to:

• For undergraduate programs, applicants must be over 18 years old and should not have turned 26 by January 1, 2025.
• For PhD programs, applicants must not have reached 40 years of age by January 1, 2025.
• Applicants must have submitted applications for a full-time on-campus program (Diploma, Degree, MPhil, or PhD) at a public Higher Education Institution in Mauritius, listed in Section 8 of the applicable Guidelines for Applicants, for the academic year commencing in 2024.
• The scholarship duration will be a maximum of what is specified in the table below or the minimum course duration, whichever is shorter.

• Application for the scholarship can only be made on the application form, duly filled-in. Section 5 of the application form should be endorsed and completed by the Nominating Agency in the country of citizenship of the applicant.

• Such Nominating Agency, which may typically be part of the Ministry of Education in the country of the applicant, will then shortlist and endorse the applications of a maximum of FIFTEEN (15) eligible candidates (five in each category of Undergraduate, Masters and MPhil/PhD) and submit the duly completed application forms as per the table below:
