IGS Principal Lauds Old Students For Providing Locally Made Hand-washing Machine

The Principal of Ibadan Grammar School, Molete, Ibadan, Mr Oladele Micheal, has lauded the old students of the school for providing locally made handwashing machines for the school to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among the students.


Mr Oladele who stated this on Monday while briefing newsmen said the gesture was highly commendable and worthy of emulation by others in order to improve the wellbeing of current students.


He said the old students made available all the necessary equipment before the reopening of schools, describing it as highly commendable.


He said: “We thank God for the opening of schools in Oyo State and we commend Governor Seyi Makinde.


“It is great for us to be back in school because we have been on a COVID-19 forced holiday since March; we are back to school with only JSS 3 and SS3 students.


“This locally-fabricated hand washing machine was donated by old students of this school and we have some other things in place and we have arranged the chairs in such a way that the students will be spaced.


“We have our time table already; we have adjusted what needs to be adjusted and we are ready to work,” he said.


He advised the students to make use of the equipment and also face their studies, adding there is no time to waste.


Also, St Annes Senior School 1 Principal, Yetude Olufunmilayo Awe, said they have been orientated about the precautions of COVID-19 and they are ready to adhere with it.


She said: “We have inspectors in schools now who will monitor our programmes from the gate, even teachers are not allowed inside if they are not with their face masks, the old students have been so compassionate with us, they gave us all these hand-washing equipment’s and we have also redistributed the students into 20 per class; I think with all this, we are safe.”
