Federal Government BEA Scholarship Fields of Study


  • Undergraduate Studies: The scholarship covers undergraduate programs in countries like Russia, Morocco, Hungary, Egypt, and Algeria. Available fields of study include Engineering, Geology, Agriculture, Sciences, Mathematics, Environmental Sciences, Sports, Law, Social Sciences, Biotechnology, Architecture, Medicine, Pilot Engineering, and Neurology.
  • Postgraduate Studies: For postgraduate aspirants, the scholarship extends to Russia (for those with a first degree from Russia), China, Hungary, Serbia, and Romania, covering all fields of study.

Federal Government BEA Scholarship Criteria & Eligibility


Undergraduate Scholarships

  • Applicants must have a minimum of Seven (7) Distinctions (As & Bs) in WASSCE/WAEC (May/June) in subjects relevant to their chosen field, including English Language and Mathematics.
  • Certificates should be no more than two (2) years old (2022 & 2023) for Non-African Countries and one year old (2023) for African countries.
  • Age limit: 17 to 20 years.

Postgraduate Scholarships

  • Applicants must hold a First Degree with 1st Class or at least 2nd Class Upper Division.
  • Completion of the NYSC Programme is mandatory.
  • Age limit: 35 years for Masters and 40 years for Ph.D.

General Notes

  • Applicants for scholarships in BEA countries, where English is not the primary language, should be prepared to undertake a mandatory one-year foreign language course in the chosen country, which will serve as the standard medium of instruction.
  • For Hungarian Scholarship applicants, the option to apply for up to two fields of study is available in order of preference. To apply, please visit the website: https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/ The application period is open from mid-November and closes on January 16, 2024. Complete the application form online.
  • Applicants for scholarships in Russia should visit the website https://education-in-russia.com/ for further information.
  • For Russian Postgraduate Scholarship applicants, it is essential to have obtained their first degree in Russia.
  • All required documents must be uploaded to the Russian Application portal in PDF format, ensuring that they are properly scanned.


Federal Government BEA Scholarship Required Documents


For Undergraduates: Provide WAEC/WASSCE results and NIN Slip.
For Postgraduates: Submit 1st Degree Certificate, NIN Slip, and NYSC discharge or exemption Certificate.
Additional Requirements:
- Certified copies of academic certificates
- International passport data page
- Medical reports, Birth Certificate, Indigene letter, and Police Clearance (if applicable)
