The Federal Government of Nigeria has launched the 3 Million Technical Talent (3MTT) Programme, a transformative initiative designed to empower Nigerians with cutting-edge technical skills needed to thrive in the global digital economy. Spearheaded by the Federal Ministry of Communications, Innovation & Digital Economy, this ambitious programme aims to train 3 million Nigerians in high-demand areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Software Development, Data Science, and more by 2027.
The 3MTT Programme aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision to create 2 million digital jobs by 2025 and establish Nigeria as a global hub for tech talent. By providing fully-funded training, mentorship opportunities, and job placement support, the programme seeks to bridge the skills gap, boost employability, and position Nigeria as a net exporter of digital expertise.
With a structured rollout plan and a focus on inclusivity, the 3MTT Programme is set to revolutionize Nigeria’s tech landscape, fostering innovation and economic growth for years to come.

About Federal Government 3MTT Programme 2025


The first phase of the programme, designed as a fellowship model in collaboration with NITDA, will involve diverse stakeholders, including fellows, training providers, partners, and placement organizations.

During this phase, individuals with an interest in specific technical skills will be selected, and the cost of their training will be fully funded through approved training providers within the programme.

Guided by the Ministry’s 1%-10%-100% implementation strategy, the initial phase targets the training and placement of 30,000 technical talents, representing the first 1% of the overall 3 million target.

This phase will be implemented using a framework developed in partnership with key stakeholders, including government agencies, training providers, educational institutions, development organizations, and private-sector partners.
