Explanation
Malaopia is not an eye defect.
- Presbyopia- an eye defect due to old age. It is otherwise known as loss of accommodation. It is corrected by using two pairs of spectacles i.e. Bifocal lenses
- Astigmatism: an cye defect due to unevenly curve cornea. The eye cannot focus lines in some directions clearly. Precisely, only horizontal lines are clear, vertical lines are blurred. It is corrected using spectacles with cylindrical lenses
- Hypermetropia or long sightedness- it is an eye defect in which distance objects are seen clearly but unable to focus near objects on the retina. Images of near objects are formed behind the retina. It is corrected with convex or converging lens
- Short sightedness (myopia): it is an eye defect in which the eye cannot focus distant objects clearly but can focus clearly near objects and distances. Images of far objects are formed in front of the retina. It is corrected with concave or diverging lens.
