Comedy is marked by merriment. mistaken identity and fulfilment of desire but the fact that it will have opening and closing glee cannot be guaranteed. It is optional and not compulsory. A study of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream will give a better understanding of what comedy is.
