The mood of the persona in the first stanza of the poem "The School Boy" is that of happiness. The persona (the school boy) loves to rise up in the summer morning and enjoy the natural environment. Just as typical of children. the boy prefers having sight of the natural environment to going to the formal school where he will be forced to cope with the rudiments of learning.
