(b)(i) Continental shelf: It has shallow, gentle slope with gradient of 1/500 and it is a continuation of the land to the sea. It occupies about 7% of the total area of the oceans. It is the richest fishing ground, allows ships to move inland and also allows recreational facilities e.g New found land
(ii) Continental slope: It is steep of depth up to 1801 5401 metres. It joins the continental shelf with the deep sea plain. It is located near the continent.
