The contribution of transportation to the economic development of Nigeria
(i) It makes available to a community goods produced elsewhere
(ii) Transportation makes for regional specialisation in production. If goods are not moved, each region will produce less
(iii) Development of large cities depends on cheap and efficient transport system
(iv) It reduces the cost of goods to the consumers
(v) It reduces waste from over-production and stabilizes prices
(vi) it strengthens national unity as people from different parts of Nigeria easily interact with one another
(vii) It helps in national defense as troops can easily be moved to places where they are needed.
