Three types of urban settlement include: (i) Cities
(ii) Conurbation
(iii) Megalopolis
(i) City: A city is made up of large towns with great( number of people and services. In a city there are towns which combined together to function as one
(ii) Conurbation: Is made up of two or more towns join E together through growth but which may still retain thE identities. These two towns are separated from eac other but through expansion or growth have joined together. But despite this, they still retain their identities
(iii) Megalopolis: This is the largest of tl-urban settlements and includes the joining of man cities to form an extensive urban area.
(b) Four problems of urbanization include: (i) Inadequate transport facilities. Increase in the number of people in the urban area often leads to problem of transportation
(ii) Overuse and deterioration of available social services. Most of the social services available,. e.g electricity, stadium, school, hospital are overused and this leads to their deterioration
(iii) There is an aggravated problem of unemployment and underemployment in the cities as well as reduce labour force in the rural areas
(iv) There is the problem of undue increase in human and vehicular traffic.
