Five factors affecting Availability of land for agricultural production include: (i) Increase in population; Increase in population of the people reduces he availability of land for farming (ii) Land tenure system: The type of land tenure system in Nigeria does not make land available for farming. (iii) Topography: The shape of the land affects its availability. If the land is sloppy, swampy, hilly etc, such land may not be available for farming (iv) Cultural practices: Cultural practices like bush burning and shifting cultivation reduce the availability of land for farming. (v) Soil type: This affects the availability but if the soil is loamy such land will be available for farming
